It's Been a While

Lots of activity since I last wrote but few dependable wifi locations have made it difficult to keep you posted. Yesterday we arrived in Big Bend National Park, on the border of Texas and Mexico. Beautiful rock formations especially as the sun sets in the evening. We will stay here for 3 or 4 days then head up to Fort Davis and visit their observatory. We will slowly make our way west arriving in Pasadena Dec. 28th. Enjoy the pictures and write when you get a chance.
Last weekend we attended an Airstream Rally at Fredericksburg, Texas and had such a great time we joined the club. Great people and lots of fun.

Sunday morning we left Fredericksburg and headed for Del Rio.
Can you believe, Drive Through beer stores in Texas????????
Many places down here haven't had rain since June. This is what happens to dry grass when cigarette butts are tossed out the window.

Can you see our trailer? We found free camping just outside Del Rio on this reservoir (thanks to the "Frugal Shunpiker")

Meeting friendly people is on of the side benefits of travel in an RV. Here we have an impromptu wine and cheese sampling in honour of Don's -- birthday. Happy Birthday Don!

A distant shot of our campsite in Del Rio. We are the silver object in the middle.

Crossing the Pecos River on the highest bridge in Texas.

Visiting Judge Roy Bean's court house and saloon.
Supper and our camp for the night. We "boondocked" at a roadside pull off which is perfectly legal here in Texas. We have learned so much about Frugal RVing from Marianne. Check out her site at: http://www.frugal-rv-travel.com/index.html

I'll write about Big Bend National Park tomorrow. Have a great day.
