Walking Lucy

Mary has never been a dog lover.Cats are fine but dogs have not been her pet of choice, until we bought our trailer. Once Toby and Niki walked into our lives, Mary's attitude towards dogs changed.

These are the heart breakers. Who could not love two such adorable pets. They belong to Marvin and Annie and whenever we are camped together, Toby and Niki are always over visiting our trailer. They're  cute cuddly and adorable. They will sit on your lap for hours and keep you warm and on a cold night they will crawl into bed with you. (That's called a two dog night) If you're not a dog lover, Niki and Toby will change that in just one visit.

This is Toby, we call him Annie's guard dog. He loves to sit on your lap and have a treat.

Here's Niki. She is very protective of Toby and whines whenever they are separated. They are like two kids.

Lucy on the other hand is just a totally different story. She's a pup, full of energy and gets so excited whenever you visit that she goes ballistic. Jumping, Running, Twisting, Yelping, all at the same time. I think she comes from a long line of circus dogs, very acrobatic. Now Jimmy is working his magic and over the weeks we have been here we have seen improvement. There are days she will actually listen to Jimmy, settle down when someone approaches and just give them four jumps (her idea of hugs) instead of twenty.

I should mention, these pictures of Lucy were taken at fast shutter speed and some are still blurred, just imagine how quickly she was dancing around.

Mary, missing Toby and Niki, and seeing how much better behaved Lucy has become, decided to take Lucy for a walk. All went well, but as you can see by the pictures, Lucy thinks she is taking Mary for a walk, not the other way around.

Lucy still in her dance mode, not yet ready to settle down and just enjoy the walk.

Click on this picture to see where the leash is; yes in Lucy's mouth. She thinks she is taking Mary for a walk

Lucy leading the way, walking Mary down the road. She is happy and in charge.  Who does that remind you of?

Now that the first mile is behind them, the leash has been turned over to Mary and Lucy is now checking out all the smells along the way.

Isn't this a beautiful area for walking your dog. Don't let Jamie see these pictures, he will want a change of location and Mike to answer your question; no we are not getting a DOG!

Mary and Lucy are walking the Old Yuma Road and I'll write about it tomorrow or something might happen today and I'll change my mind. You can do that here in the desert.  Enjoy your day, and be kind to your pets.

  3. Mary... I would not count on that. The canines have captured your heart. You are done for now. Only a matter of time. Toby and Niki are still looking for you both.
