Breakfast

It's great to have breakfast with Carol and Don and every once in a while we get an additional surprise. ............................

Carol and Mary enjoying breakfast (pancakes and fresh fruit) when Mary

ran outside to check the sky. Don followed too and was gazing skyward

and this was the view through our front window. Hot air balloons were very close Tuesday morning. One landed beside the highway in front of the resort.

Here are a few pictures of the balloon out by the highway, taken by Don, even though they say Art.

Tuesday morning we had the customary 3 hour "time-share" sales pitch all for a free train ride through the canyon.

After lunch we decided it was a perfect day for a hike.

Look out here we come. It was great to be outside and enjoying the fresh air.

One of the many views we enjoyed. The trail was not crowded and although we got lost once we were never far from help if we needed it.

Sedona is famous for its red cliffs and you can see why in this picture. It doesn't matter which direction you look these beautiful cliffs are there to greet you.

Are you enjoying  the view?  Maybe someday you will be hiking here too.

Don on the trail. He took a lot of pictures so was usually a few steps behind us, but that was ok, it gave us a chance to rest and catch our breath.

Mary and Carol carried the back-packs with our water and snacks. It is essential to drink lots of water as one hikes to keep the body hydrated and prevent fainting.

Unfortunately it was time to head back to the parking lot. Today we will head to Jerome and explore that area. Jerome is an old copper mining town filled with lots of history and old saloons.

Thanks for stopping by.
