This girl struggled up to the sandy soil just outside our windows.
She spent several hours digging and laying her eggs under the watchful eye of this chipmunk.
Here he gets up close and actually has his paw on the turtle's shell.
Sometimes it gets a little crowded with everyone trying to get the best spot to dig.

Not everyone is happy to see the turtles. I'm sure for some creatures this is their first encounter face to face and they aren't sure ......
