CHICKEN RUN

With the weather being perfect we decided to give our chickens an expanded chicken run.

We kept it simple using snow fence and rebar to create an enlarged area for more scratching opportunities for our girls. Paul held the fence in place while I attached it wherever possible.

Mary held the re-bar while I drove it into the ground and in half an hour we had the chickens out enjoying their new yard.

No sooner had we finished the job when I spotted a fox trotting across our road just a short distance from our property.

I think the chickens will only be out in their new yard when we are down there and can keep an eye for any predators.

You can't be too careful when raising livestock in the bush.

  1. Yes Art, you can't be too careful especially with a hungry fox lurking around. The bush looks gorgeous!
